Action sounds and notifications sounds have been changing for different versions of Microsoft Windows. Do you remember horrible “error sound” in Windows XP? If PC volume was slightly more than normal, Windows XP “error notification sound” can make your family awaken in the night.

Later on Microsoft soften the system sounds in Windows 7 lessening the harshness and intensity of that. I think Windows 7 is the best of all versions of the most famous operating system in world, the Windows.

But again Microsoft came up with slightly intense notification system sounds specially for Volume adjuster. The sound is so loud, when we adjust sound, action sound impedes the sound of the music or video that is running.

In this step by step tutorial, I will tell you how to customize different system sounds or how to entirely disable system sounds if you want to run your PC in silent mode. The changes are small and handy and you can easily revert them back.
